Whew! JUNE !!! Congratulations Mamas!
Amidst all that has transpired in over the past few months.....WE made it! 2020 has been a hell of a year thus far and we are halfway through! Experiencing a national pandemic, adjusting to new norms and social distancing, and most recently the nationwide displays of injustice can be quite frustrating on top of "Raising Babies & Businesses", right? Summer can be tough for us Mompreneurstas . And to top it off this Summer looks so much different than our past Summers. Most of us are still practicing social distancing, although many states have just re-opened. And finding a balance amongst everything can somewhat be difficult. How on Earth are we ever going to get through the summer? Don't panic!
Here are 2 simple steps to help you get through the summer.
Step 1: Establish a Routine
The first step to establishing your summer routine will be to determine what type of Summer YOU want to have. I know, I know.....It's Summer. The last thing on your mind is a routine of any sort. Your mind is at peace from being the teacher, mommy, and business owner, and you just want a little bit of peace and relaxation. Right? But what about your business? Do you want to grow your business, maintain it, or slow down and take a break this summer? So, initially a few days of NOTHINGNESS could suffice, but eventually, some order will need to come into play. Nothing too stuffy, but a routine to make sure your days are relaxing & productive for you and your business and fun for the kids could help. For example, give your days themes. Something the kids can look forward to ( Make Something Monday, Tasty Tuesday, Take a Trip Tuesday, Water Fun Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday, Thinking Thursday, Free Friday, Foodie Friday, Fun Day Friday, etc). Whether you decide to smooth sail or speed ahead this Summer with your business, determining what type of routine you will set with your kids, will allow you to balance where you can fit in your work.
Step 2: Did someone say BALANCE?
Grant it, Summer is supposed to be fun and kids always have their list of things that they want to do during Summer break, and that's GREAT because you don't have to wreck your brain trying to find activities or trips that they may be interested in.
But, we all need a little balance here and there to get to that point. And to find that sense of Balance, I utilize a S.P.O.T. system that works for me. It breaks down my tasks for the day, and allows me to EFFECTIVELY plan out my day for my business and my daughter. There's something about planning out my day that refreshes my soul!
